I-75 / I-696 Interchange

METCO Services was responsible for providing Bridge Surveys on the 6 bridge "mixing bowl" that makes up the busiest intersection in the State of Michigan.

With an average traffic flow of 360,000 vehicles per day, safety was the number one concern. METCO used the Leica HDS 3000 scanner, and was thus able to accurately collect data from over 40 separate positions encompassing the entire interchange without ever entering into a roadway.

All of the relevant point information was collected by HDS office technicians using the Virtual Surveyor Module of Cyclone. Once all of the point data were collected, the files were transferred into CAIcE, as required by the Michigan Department of Transportation, and finalized for delivery.
