Detroit, MI, March, 2008 - METCO Services, Inc., one of the leading companies to offer laser scanning for everyday surveying services, announced today that METCO was hired by hamiltonanderson to scan two casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The first job required METCO to provide up-to-date reflective ceiling plans at the LUXOR Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Through the use of the HDS6000 scanner, METCO was able to capture contiguous point clouds throughout the facility and complete the survey without interrupting the normal flow of daily visitors. Over 3800 separate fixtures of varying types were located from the scan data, with a very high degree of accuracy.

The second job required METCO to provide a complete investigation into a possible reconfiguration and beautification of the roof of the Monte Carlo Casino.  Three days were needed to collect more than 140 positions on tow of the roofs totaling 175,000 sq. ft.  The scan data collected was used to create two separate models documenting the locations of all structures found on the roof.  This data also provided information specific the roof itself in that we were able to create an accurate mesh showing possible ponding areas and areas where the structure itself was in disrepair.
